        Font Goggles by @justvanrossum are deceptively simple viewer for fonts. View/compare OpenType features and variation axes (and their extremes), check shaping, … fontgoggles.org It’s so useful that I have it now set as a default app for opening fonts.

      Unicode Checker by Earthlinksoft allows you to search the whole Unicode database and preview the characters/glyphs in different fonts. I find it more convenient than the slow Show Emoji & Symbols palette on macOS. earthlingsoft.net/UnicodeChecker/

      On Mac, I use the ~/Library/Fonts/ for a simple, file-based font management. I touch Apple’s FontBook only when I have to (someone reports that it reports something nasty about our fonts). The following two reminded me of the good old FontCase by @bohemiancoding that is no more.

            Slice by @sourcefoundry let’s you chop your variable fonts to pieces. That might be super useful, if the EULA allows, to reduce size or make them simpler for the users. slice-gui.netlify.app
